Fink's Links #16

And...here we go again! Another selection of (still twitching) slices of the internets pseudopods, glistening with ectoplasm and laid delicately on a post-sized, lightly warmed plate...so pick up your Eldar-sign embossed chopsticks as I bow and present to you the following -

Most relevantly to my introduction, take a look at some (modelled from life) "OctopusME!" brand jewellery...

Now plunge the depths of the 10 deepest lakes on the surface of the earth (wondering, but not too hard, and with a healthy dose of fear, what lies beneath?)...

Two inventions now, firstly the incredibly elegant (at least when inside a building away from gusts of wind) Air-Ray - Do not miss the film on page 3...awesome...and secondly, the US have developed a Flying Sniper Drone which is much more accurate than ground-based human snipers...you can see where all the money is coming from for R'n'D in the USA...

Next, two articles from New Scientist, firstly a look at a gallery of (small bits of) plants from Kew Gardens, when placed under an electron microscope (slideshow, hover the images to explainitory text) and secondly, "Zombie Caterpillars controlled by Voodoo Wasps"...(we've all heard of those nasty parasitic wasps, but this newly observed behaviour is extraordinary)!

A great shot of some MET officers passing a group of Stormtroopers in London, eyeing each other up suspiciously...

A pretty hearty Congratulations fail?

The slightly disturbing short essay "Scenes from a group marriage"...

A cool GTA 4 stunt compilation video...

and finally, a great company slogan... ;)

More next week and previous entries can be found in this direction...
