Travelodge - London City Airport review

Well, in a change from the norm, Flyingpops has to take a little very early morning flight to Geneva tomorrow...as a result our only real option to get her there with anything like a reasonable nights sleep involved us skipping the commute, having a nice spicy meal in Nandos and then taking the DLR to London City Airport and checking in to the Travelodge...put it this way, it's aptly named...we are less than 100 yards from the very end of the runway, the triple glazed windows are keeping out very little of the noise as the constant procession of medium sized jets and propeller planes thunder into the sky right outside...the room is extremely basic, no soap or shower gel, one towel, no trouser press or iron, only channels 1 to 5 on the very quiet tv, which, incidentally, is pointing at the door, rather than the bed...oh and no phone to ring room service and no alarm to help us wake up in the morning...is is unfair to expect more for 70 quid?

Got my Travelodge in Kings Cross booked for December for the annual pilgrimage to see NMA at the Astoria. £29 coz I booked in advance - not expecting much more than a bed for that - hopefully no runway noise though!
